  46. extracts specific parts from a

  48. file to other useful formats\&. The first argument,
  49. \fBmode\fR, tells
  50. \fBmkvextract\fR(1)
  51. what to extract\&. Currently supported is the extraction of
  52. tracks,
  53. tags,
  54. attachments,
  55. chapters,
  56. CUE sheets,
  57. timecodes
  58. and
  59. cues\&. The second argument is the name of the source file\&. It must be a

  61. file\&. All following arguments are options and extraction specifications; both of which depend on the selected mode\&.

  66. \fB\-f\fR, \fB\-\-parse\-fully\fR
  67. .RS 4
  68. Sets the parse mode to \*(Aqfull\*(Aq\&. The default mode does not parse the whole file but uses the meta seek elements for locating the required elements of a source file\&. In 99% of all cases this is enough\&. But for files that do not contain meta seek elements or which are damaged the user might have to use this mode\&. A full scan of a file can take a couple of minutes while a fast scan only takes seconds\&.
